Lead Personal Care Aide

Comfort Keepers in Alameda is looking for an experienced Caregiver that is prepared to take on a Supervisory role in support of multiple clients.

This position is senior to the entry level positon of “Personal Care Aide”. It is part-time, Non-Exempt and has variable hours assigned each week. The Lead Caregiver provides direct care to clients. Additional responsibilities include supervision, direction and skills transfer to other caregivers. Working in the office with office duties and administration assignments are expected. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Lead caregivers receive additional core skills training and experience to build-up their capabilities and expertise. This training is on-line, web based, and through in-services held in the office.

Lead caregivers will be assigned to complex care client assignments and will be responsible for updating their Supervisor on a frequent basis, which may include daily or weekly communications. Access to CK corporate email system is required to Protect Health Information (PHI).
Other types of assignments include but are not limited to: being available to support call-offs by the regular assigned care staff; accept assignments on weekends; have transportation to drive clients to appointments; participate in client medical appointments and take notes for the client’s family.
Lead Caregiver is responsible for working collaboratively with all members of the CK Office Staff.
Lead Caregiver will receive other duties as assigned by direct report manager.

High School diploma or GED and at least two years’ experience in a health care setting.
Previous Supervisory experience is a plus. Experience in coordinating health care required.
Automobile available for work every day, with valid driver’s license with auto insurance. Good computer skills, working with Microsoft Office, and telecommunications skills are important.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as positive professional, business image.
